Katja Herbers has been a professional musician since she was a young girl. Herbers is the daughter of Vera Beths (violinist) and Werner Herbers (oboist). When she was a kid she travelled to America as did her mother when the L'Archibudelli chamber ensemble toured. Her mother was remarried to cellist Anner Bylsma, and her father remarried costume designer Leonie the Polak who introduced her to the theater.
